Letter!!!!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings to you all from the bottom of my heart! I want to begin with thanks and more thanks to you all for your support in my life. It was by the grace of God that I was adopted into a Catholic/Christian home with phenomenal parents and siblings who have supported me in everything I do. I was heavily involved in soccer throughout my adolescent years with aspirations of being a professional some day; but when I became a believer of Christ as my Lord, my understanding of life changed. I realized it was God who gave me the ability to play, and it was Him who opened my eyes to the greater needs in life. He is the One who provides for my every need, and because I have been so fortunate and blessed with friends and family, I am committing to a longer term calling to serve overseas. The Lord encourages me to seek His will and to honor Him in all that I do, and I want to serve Him whole-heartedly.

I am writing this letter to update you with my future plans because you have been there for me at the front lines and/or behind the scenes. I am relocating to Nepal for at least two years. I will be working with iny Hands Nepal International, an organization that assists street children and victims of sex trafficking with their development process. Because this is a step of faith and a definite call from the Lord, I will be learning a lot spiritually and educationally. I am excited to learn what it means to follow Jesus outside my comfort zone. I am thrilled about this opportunity and excited to be a part of something much bigger than myself. To learn more about TinyHandsInternational/Nepal please check out the two links provided.

There about 10,000 Nepali women trafficked into India per year, tricked into thinking they will have a better job or false marriages. These little girls and young women range from 7-24 years of age. Street children exist on a global level, and are results of similar tragedies, including extreme poverty, abandonment, death of a parent, and their need to escape family problems. Street children quickly get into sniffing glue as a way to cope with their problems. I interacted with these street children and it broke my heart! These kids range from 5-10 years of age and have absolutely no one to love them. All they know is hatred and abandonment.

In May 2008, I graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree from Azusa Pacific University (APU). At APU, I have been exposed to great learning opportunities. One of those is serving the Lord in global mission. I went to India for my first short term mission trip in 2005 and have returned every year since then. It changed my life’s focus to serve the Lord always in everything I do. That is my life mission. With that mindset, I was convicted to serve God on a global scale. That is why I am moving to Nepal for at least two years. One way for me to allow God to be my hands, feet, words, and attitude is to serve Him in that part of the world.

I will have available to me email (goyco21@gmail.com) and blog (http://handsfeetwordsattitude.blogspot.com/) with updates of all the great things the Lord is doing in the lives of the Nepali people. You are welcome to contact me for further inquiry or more information. It would be a blessing to have you walk along side me in this journey. You are invited to participate through:
